Our Story

From the auction block … to the city block.

Willis Case (1909-2004) founded the Case Auction Company in 1939 and began what became a lifetime career of specializing in auction services in the Ozarks and Southern Missouri. In 1944, the company expanded into brokering real estate when Willis received his Missouri real estate broker’s license. Being a native of the Ozarks, Willis’ knowledge of farm real estate along with his farm equipment and livestock knowledge established him as what became known as a farm real estate specialist, and let’s face it an asset to the profession. Prior to Willis’ death in 2004, he was recognized as being the oldest (we’d say best) auctioneer in Missouri.

In 1970, Willis’ son Hoover, joined his father as a partner in the company. Hoover’s love of purebred livestock auctions added yet another dimension to the company. The purebred livestock sales division the Case Auction Services has evolved to a national level in livestock marketing, auctioneering and sale management services for purebred livestock companies across the US.

Back at home, Susan Case joined Hoover working fulltime as a professional Realtors® and soon to be broker. Susan and Hoover strive to make your next real estate transaction (whether it be your first or hundredth) in a professional and fulfilling experience. Having both grown up in Southwest Missouri, they sincerely enjoy and appreciate the beauty and history of the Missouri Ozarks.

Real Estate and Auction run in Hoover’ blood, having helped his father as a young child. After receiving his degree from SMSU, Hoover joined his father, Willis, as partner in The Case Company in 1970 and formed the purebred livestock sales division. Today, this division provides livestock marketing & sale management services for purebred livestock organizations such as the highly acclaimed King Ranch sale in Kingsville, Texas and the Briggs Ranch sale in Victoria, Texas. Hoover’s love and respect for agriculture has made him a top real estate sales producer in farm sales across the Ozarks. With 50 plus years of experience, Hoover is an expert in bringing real solutions and answers to any of our real estate and auction needs. There is no transaction too complex for Hoover to handle; there isn’t much he hasn’t seen before.

Having been a successful small-business owner of Beckerdite Music Company for over 25 years, Susan brought business expertise to the table. Implementing high volume contracts and negotiation with schools throughout Southwest Missouri, the move to Real Estate sales was a natural transition for Susan and one that she has eagerly embraced. Susan’s knowledge of the area, her timely suggestions and her personal attention to detail help her provide her clients with solutions and satisfied results.

In 2004, Susan and Hoover Case assumed the management reins of The Case Company. For years, Susan acted as Broker, leading the company to new horizons in the real estate division while Hoover continued to expand the Farm/Land Real Estate Services, along with the Cattle and Purebred Auction divisions. Together, Susan and Hoover understood the power of a locally owned business. Today dedicated Realtor(R), Cheryl Busch leads our team as Broker, continuing to be the local connection to those buying and selling in southwest Missouri.
